So… I’m starting a blog site. This is the first one I’ve ever written. I want my blogs to be about simplifying life. I have spent a good part of my life trying to simplify my life. And I still need to simplify more. There are so many things I could do more simply, and by writing these blogs, I hope to share the things I have learned in the past and the things I will learn as I try new ways of simplifying.
But we can’t simplify everything. And only you can decide what you should simplify.
Recently I read that former President Obama only had two colors of suits so that he didn’t have to spend a lot of time and energy making the decision about what to wear every day. I haven’t been able to find the source of this information to check on whether or not it is true, but I found it so interesting!
And that led me to another thought; simplifying is an individual thing—what one person needs to simplify is different from what another person needs to simplify.
Honestly… Can you imagine Kim Kardashian picking two outfits to wear everywhere, everyday? That would never happen! The clothes she wears is part of who she is!
Having a simple wardrobe wouldn’t be any fun for someone who loves interesting clothes. They would miss out on the joy it brings them.
And what about someone who loves to cook? They wouldn’t want to simplify meal planning. They probably love pouring over cookbooks and looking through Pinterest for new recipes for their weekly menu. I, however, would like to put together two weeks of meals for my family and just repeat them over and over.
Starting here, I’ll share the things I simplify in my life and maybe it will give you ideas for simplifying your life. Then we will all have more time for the things we love.
So, starting with one thing at a time…
Here goes…
From now on, I’m working on “Doing It Simply!”
